RPG Maker as an AI contingency plan.
We're going through turbulent times. Lots of things are changing rapidly, and most people are thunderstruck and frozen like deer in the headlights. AI is changing the world, for better or worse, and we have to adapt.

Becoming AI-proof is going to require delving deeper into what makes us human, leaning harder onto our creativity, our intuition, and our curiosity. Procedural or formulaic games are low-hanging fruit for current-generation AIs, but computer role playing games can be much more than that, and require much more than what contemporary AIs can reliably produce.
Writing skills, drawing skills, and general storytelling skills are now more valuable than ever. If it looks like the opposite is true, it's because you're looking at it from the wrong angle. The places where those skills are valuable are changing. Getting hired for those skills will be harder, yes, but getting hired is not the solution. The solution is to develop independence from the system that wants to replace you with AI.
Develop your skills further. Never stop learning. Start applying your skills for yourself. Develop your games, sell your games. Develop products whose quality is elevated by your humanity.
A system that thinks it can replace you doesn't deserve your participation.

The Plan.
You can't afford to spend 5 years developing your project. The rules of the game have changed, and we must adapt. Swift and smooth, steady and decisive. This isn't the time for masterpieces. This is the time for quality and quantity, and to achieve quantity, you must divorce yourself from the pursuit of perfection.
In the era of AI, perfectionism is deadlier than ever. Your masterpiece could become your swan song. Why risk it? Aim for good quality. Aim for high quality, even. But stop once you cross the point of diminishing returns.

This is the plan.
Develop a well-oiled machine to tell all of your stories. Become irreplaceable. Escape the system that doesn't value you.
That's how you win.
When the cards are stacked against you, the winning move is to play a different game.
